3 days in mumbai: you should not miss this

We live close to Mumbai, so we have often visited this fascinating city of millions. And I still haven't had enough of it, because I think Mumbai is really fantastic. If you want to see all the highlights in the city, you will soon need two to three days and in this article, I share my best tips to make your days in Mumbai as fun and efficient as possible.
Day 1: Sniffing culture
Mumbai has been in the hands of the British for centuries, so the center of the city is full of beautiful sights and beautiful colonial buildings. The best way to start your day is in southern Mumbai, in the Colaba district. Here you will find the Gateway of India - which was built in 1911 in honor of the visit of British King George V and Queen Mary - and the iconic Taj Mahal Palace.
The Gateway is especially beautiful during sunriseThen you can have breakfast in one of the many nice cafes in the area. If the sunrise is too early for you, I recommend that you arrive by 10 a.m. at the latest, so that you are not there in the heat of the day. And now that you are in Colaba, it is recommended to also visit the famous Colaba Causeway, where you will find countless nice shops and stalls. Click here to rent a taxi from taxi service in Udaipur.

3 days in Mumbai: you should not miss thisAfter exploring Colaba, you can walk to nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu SangrahalayaIn this museum, also called the Prince of Wales Museum, you will find a large collection of Indian art and archaeological finds. If you are not a fan of museums, you can only walk a little through the garden and admire the building from the outside.
From here you can walk along the beautiful Bombay High Court to the Chhatrapati Shivaji TerminusThis train station is known as one of the most beautiful stations in the world and from here the first train departed in Asia in 1853. Since 2004 it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Walk or take a taxi from the train station to Marine Drive, the kilometer-long boulevard in the west of the city. Especially at the end of the afternoon and the beginning of the evening it is pleasantly busy here with families, sellers, and street artists.
TIP! Mumbai is a busy, chaotic city and because there is virtually no public transport, you have to do everything with a taxi or rickshaw. For more convenience, you can also choose to book a private tour, including a private guide and an air-conditioned car. You will then visit all the major sights of Mumbai in 8 hours.

Day 2: Sightseeing hopping
Today we start the day in my favorite neighborhood in Mumbai: BandraThis atmospheric area is located in the west of the city and is known as the trendiest district of Mumbai. Start your day with a breakfast at one of the many nice cafés, such as the healthy Sequel or Poetry, where you can order the tastiest sweet breakfast dishes.
Then stroll along the famous Linking Road, which is best known for the many counterfeit designer clothes, shoes and accessories. Then head south to visit “The most badass lane in Mumbai”, or Chapel Road, where many buildings are decorated with beautiful street art. Then turn right and walk along the Bandstand Promenade to the old Bandra Fort. From here you have a beautiful view of the Bandra – Worli Sea Link.

When you have a few hours left, you can go to the luxurious High Street Phoenix mall, where you can stroll around or have a drink. Is it starting to get dark? Then skip the mall and go to one of the nearby rooftop bars, such as AER or Asilo. From here you have a beautiful view of the city, especially during and just after sunset, when the lights go on everywhere.

Day 3: To the fascinating Elephanta Caves
You have now seen the most beautiful and fun sights of Mumbai, so if you have one day left, the Elephanta Caves are a must. These caves are located on Elephanta Island, about 10 kilometers east of the city. It is a complex with seven caves, with decorated temples and statues from Hindu mythology. It was probably built in the seventh and since 1987 it is on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
TIP! Avoid having to arrange the boat trip to the island yourself and book the Half-Day Mumbai Elephanta Caves TourIncluding the English-speaking guide and hotel pick-up service.
